FYI
CASL Recreation and Challenge schedules for each season are distributed to coaches at the pre-season Coaches Kick-Off held each August (Fall Season) and the CASL AGM & Coaches Conference held each February (Spring Season). TASL adult schedules are provided at the Pre-Season Captain's meeting and are posted with the Recreation and Challenge schedules on www.caslnc.com approximately 10 days after each of the above events.
Mini-kicker team coaches are mailed their schedule in January or July (depending on season). Classic Schedules are posted on North Carolina Youth Soccer www.ncsoccer.orgBelow you can link to the current playing season's Schedules and Scores, and you may access previous Results and Standings for Youth and TASL (adults). _________________________________________________________________________________________
Common Questions about Scores Updated On the Web Doug Kappler, IT Manager & Scheduling
There are two categories of questions that arise dealing with scores and standings for a given season. First is "how and when do scores and standings get posted? Secondly, "what is wrong when scores and standings don't seem to be updated as they should?" Let's address each in order. Beginning with the Spring 2005 season, match results are entered into the referee assigning system (The Arbiter). Match reports are no longer mailed to the CASL office and waiting a week just for them to be received and another week to get entered. CASL anticipates having scores updated at the usual website location by Thursday after the weekend of games. This will involve extracting the scores from the Arbiter and re-keying them into our legacy system for uploading to the web.
Reminder: Coaches are responsible for verifying the game result before they sign the match report. If you sign a match report that has your team losing, the result will be posted as reported on the match report. If the posted score does not match a coach's copy of the match report or you signed a match report with reversed scores, please email me at dougk@caslemail.com for resolution.
If you experience a situation where the data never changes from the last time you accessed the web page, you could be experiencing a situation where you are viewing an old "cache page". Old cache pages could be stored on your PC (called the client) or an Internet Service Provider (ISP) server.
First, attempt to force your PC's browser to pull a fresh page from the server by pressing REFRESH or Shift + REFRESH. If this does not work, access your web browser's HELP information on how to manually clear the "cache".
There could be one last culprit: your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) server. Often ISP servers hold old cache to help speed up the web access and the server may only update those pages periodically (hours or even longer). Oh, what a tangled "Web"!!! CASL hopes this will help you understand some of the business process as well as the technology we must use to bring you something seemingly as simple as schedules and scores.
