CASL is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides positive and high-quality instructional and competitive youth soccer opportunities at all levels of play that enhance character, community and the love of the game for a diverse membership of children ages 4-18 and their families across Wake County and serves as a community partner to improving the quality of life in Wake County.
The Goal Assist Fund is designed to help CASL embody its mission in all facets of operation. The CASL Board of Directors and Executive staff have outlined four fundraising objectives within the fund.
o We understand that youth athletics can be a financial burden on families as a result of life circumstances. It is our goal to provide financial assistance to players who would otherwise not be able to play. Last year, more than $50,000 in financial aid was awarded to qualifying players and their families across all divisions of play
· Community Outreach:
o CASL offers a variety of opportunities for underserved populations to play the game of soccer in a safe, structured environment and to experience the physical and mental health benefits that participating in youth sport can provide. CASL will serve approximately 1000 youth in the through after school programs, community center and non-profit partnerships, free soccer clinics, and the HEART program, which is for youth with intellectual disabilities.
· Coaching education, retention of quality staff, and recruitment of new coaches:
o We know the important role that youth sport can play in socializing youth. CASL has 500 volunteer coaches and 100 seasonal staff coaches who are responsible for the experience and development of our young players, both on and off the field. Providing resources for their development and attracting the right people for the job is critical to providing a positive youth sport experience for athletes that can have lasting effects.
· Improvements to WRAL Soccer Center and outlying facilities:
o CASL has made significant financial investments into WRAL Soccer Center which have lead to the removal of trees (to be replaced by more trees that cast shade), turf planning to offer better playing surfaces, over-seeding of fields, the addition of two new turf fields, and removal of debris from the surrounding woods. Furthermore, CASL is responsible for maintaining fields in the geographic region we serve. Plans are in place to continue enhancing the experience of all patrons who play on any CASL field.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to CASL. We accept individual contributions, corporate donations/matching gifts, and more. All contributions are tax-deductible as provided by law.
