The Center for Sports Medicine and Performance is supported, in part, by the CASL Sports Medicine Society. In the Spring of 2010, CASL sought the assistance of Rob Schneider, MS, PT, ATC, CES, to implement plan to improve the safety and physical preparation of the athletes. After a number of conversations with local healthcare professionals that were already seeing CASL Players, the CASL Sports Medicine Society was formed. The CSM Society was formed as a way of bringing various healthcare providers in the community together to provide a more comprehensive sports medicine model of care and performance training. The members of the Sports Medicine Society are below.
Presently, the CASL Sports Medicine and Performance Center includes the services of a licensed Certified Athletic Trainer (Jason Bailey, MS, ATC, CSCS, PES,CES) available at the WRAL Soccer Center Monday through Thursday from 3:45pm – 8:00pm and Friday from 3:45pm – 6:30pm. There is now a newly renovated Medical and Rehabilitation room in the Radford Building as well as a Fitness Center. As part of the agreements we have with our society members, we can help provide expedited access to participating healthcare providers as well as improve communication pathways between coaches, medical providers, and parents. We have recently opened up a Rehabilitation area, where there is on site access to a Physical Therapist (Amy Arundale, DPT, PES, CES) Monday through Friday afternoons. Performance Enhancement services can also be available on a team and individual level. Please see Jason Bailey for individual, team, or group Performance Training.
The CASL Sports Medicine and Performance Center is an evolving program that requires the support of the CASL community. If anyone is interested in making donations to help financially support the cost of these services, please contact Jason Bailey at atc@caslnc.com.
Other needs for the center include and are not limited to:
1) Stationary Bicycle
2) Dumbbell Free Weights
3) Resistance Bands or Balance Balls
We would like to welcome you to the CASL Sports Medicine and Performance Center. This center has been brought to you through a collaborative effort between a number of community based healthcare organizations and the Capital Area Soccer League in order to better serve its athletes.
