Where are the Next Trips?
1st Trip:
This summer starts off with the CASL Ambassadors journey to a new part of Scandinavia, Norway.
The tour starts in Oslo, the capital city of this Nordic country. Hemmed by a ‘fjord’ and kilometers of woodland, Norway’s capital is an easy-going city with an eclectic architectural mix of old, new and just plain 1960s that is hard not to like. The perfect size for exploring on foot, the city boasts world-class museums, a lively nightlife and plenty of outdoor activities for the energetic. Most visitors will find themselves struggling to choose between Oslo’s numerous museums, which offer something for almost every taste: a face-to-face with the haunting image of Edvard Munch’s The Scream at the National Gallery, a chance to stand in the shoes of an Olympic ski-jumper at the Holmenkollen Ski Museum, or a window into history and culture at the unforgettable Viking Ship, Polarship Fram or Folk Museums on Bygdøy. And Oslo is certainly the cosmopolitan heart of Norway, with a rapidly growing café and bar culture, top-notch restaurants, and nightlife options ranging from world-class opera and jazz to indie rock.
But many Oslo residents, being avid hikers, skiers and sailors, will fondly tell you that what they love most about their city is how easy it is to leave the city life behind. Located at the head of the Oslofjord (which actually isn’t a fjord, but is pretty anyway), Oslo is one of Europe’s largest capitals in terms of area (450 sq km) but smallest population-wise. As a result, it is the only European capital that boasts cycling, hiking, ice-skating, kayaking, sailing and skiing, all within its city limits and a short train ride away.
Here’s what we are coming for:
Playing in the PLUSSBANK CUP. 4 games minimum on excellent fields with time to explore the wonderfull area of Southern Norway including the famous Waterpark and Animalpark. Kristiansand is located on the fantastic Norwegian Southern coast, and is a town that in summer time is visitid by thousands of tourists. The tournament has a big opening show in center of town, walking distance from our hotel.
Plussbank Cup is one of the largest football tournaments in Norway, hosting the age groups 8-19 years. In 2012 420 teams and 5.500 players/coaches competed. PlussbankCup is hosted by the clubs Fløy, Vindbjart and Donn, in cooperation with Plussbank and Dyreparken. PlussbankCup aims to be one of the country's top football tournaments for children and adolescents between 8 and 19 years, and we have everything it takes to do just that. With good weather, good courts, and lots of fun activities, everything is designed to ensure that you get a great experience in Kristiansand!
This summer’s second trip will be taking us to the city of Copenhagen, Denmark for the start of the tour. Fairytale-like castles, cobblestone narrow streets, old timbered houses, canals, fields of yellow, windmills, lots of bicycles, happy people, modern architecture and design, as well as a certain sculpture of a little mermaid. Copenhagen is all that, and so much more.
For our lodging the Copenhagen Island's fantastic architecture and numerous luxurious facilities are what make the hotel unique and unparalleled to other hotels. We have consciously chosen to highlight this by not allowing the hotel to become officially a star classified, but to let the hotel speak for itself – a design gem in Copenhagen. The newly built hotel lowered the drawbridge in 2006 and opened its doors to a hotel which is second to none. State-of-the-art quality abounds throughout the hotel which, in addition to its 325 air conditioned rooms, free wireless Internet and flat screen TVs, also has gym facilities, not to mention its exciting restaurant The Harbour with its superb view of the harbor. Copenhagen Island also offers uplifting and inspirational conference experiences, where the combination of light, glass and water creates a quite unique environment. Here, the fabulous design, modern comfort, and superb service are key. Copenhagen Island has nine exclusive, innovative and unique conference rooms of various sizes, seating up to 80 people theatre style. All conference rooms are air conditioned and has a natural inflow of daylight and the very latest in technical equipment. Several of the rooms have a fantastic view over Copenhagen Harbour.
