Thanks to all of our participants from this past Fall's events!  We hope you had a great experience and visit.

From The Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau:

"The 2012 CASL visitRaleigh.com National Soccer Series (NSS) once again proved to be a blockbuster event for the Greater Raleigh hospitality industry. The NSS is the Triangle’s largest sporting event, based on number of teams and number of hotel room-nights. Played over four weekends from early Nov. through early Dec., the NSS brought nearly 1,000 teams to North Carolina’s capital city region from all over the U.S. According to the event’s official housing company, Raleigh-based Partners in Team Travel, the 2012 NSS booked 10,335 hotel rooms that generated a total of 28,246 room-nights. More than 36,000 total visitors accounted for an estimated $9 million in direct visitor spending. CASL owns and operates the National Soccer Series, while the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance serves as a primary host partner and event sponsor."

From The News of Orange County:

Orange County generates economic impact: soccer league college showcase

"The Orange County Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation’s Eurosport Soccer Center set the backdrop for the annual National Soccer Series College Showcase. This marks the first time the county has hosted the event, sponsored by the Capital Area Soccer League.  The soccer tournament showcases high school boys and girls, in the 15- to 19-year-old divisions, representing the top soccer teams from Alaska to Florida. The Showcase involves 900 players from more than 90 teams as well as scouts, collegiate  coaches and family members. As a result, more than $2 million bolsters the local economy, including hotel accommodations, car rentals, food, shopping, etc. Eight hotels in Orange County reserved more than 700 rooms, and participants are required to stay at the designated hotels in the community. “Nearly 10,000 people visited Orange County to participate in this event, which was run very smoothly by county staff," said David Stancil, director of the Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation. "We hope the Capital Area Soccer League will consider using the Eurosport Soccer Center each year and that the crowds will grow even larger." The boys' showcase (run Nov. 16 through 18) consisted of 78 games, attracting a crowd of more than 5,500 spectators. The girls' showcase (run Nov. 30 through Dec. 2) consisted of 50 games, attracting a crowd of more than 3,600 spectators. Both showcases generated nearly $8,000 in field rental fees and concession sales.
