General Information

Ralph Jordan is CASL's Referee Assignor.  Ralph uses the on-line referee scheduling application called ArbiterSports (  This web-based program is in use by many sports assignors in North Carolina and across the country.  With this application, each referee receives his/her assignments and can accept or decline them via this program.


Referee Courses

Registration for new referee certification is open. Visit USSF-NC Arbiter Central Hub to register and for more information.

To register click on the Registration tab along the top of the screen.

After you register you will click on the Eligibility tab to see the requirements for certification.  For a New Referee that would be the Grade 8 New Referee selection.

Once you finish the online part of the course you would attend a classroom session.  Local classroom sessions are offered in July/Aug and Jan/Feb each year."

Ralph assigns for all CASL Divisions: Recreational, Challenge, YTS, and Classic as well as all CASL Tournaments.

New referees or referees new to CASL can email him their name, a unique email address, experience, and certification information in order to be added to the Referee Assignment Data Base in the Arbiter.  They will then receive a logon to the Arbiter where they can enter their personal data and get set up to receive game assignments.

Please use the "Game Day" mobile number to:

  • For Referees to report no shows, lateness, serious game problems, etc.
  • For Coaches to report Referee no shows, lateness, serious game problems, etc.

Referee certification information can be found on the North Carolina Soccer Referees Association website.

  • CASL uses only United States Soccer Federation (USSF) certified referees for all its programs.
  • CASL does not use Grade 9 referees.
  • CASL recommends the Grade 8 certification course for beginning referees.
